SND is a family-run business with over 70 years of experience in the electrical retail and wholesale industries. Originally rooted in Kenya and Uganda, the company established its Birmingham base on 5 April 1982. Today, SND is one of the largest independent electrical wholesalers in the West Midlands, with distribution centres in Leicester, London, Manchester, and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

We offer:

  • Free delivery on orders over £85 within mainland UK.
  • Speedy delivery (£8.95): arrives in 1–3 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
  • For non-mainland UK and the Republic of Ireland, delivery starts at £14.95

Yes. You can collect your order in Birmingham. Bring a valid ID (like a driving licence or passport). If you're collecting on behalf of someone else, you'll need a copy of their ID and a signed form for collection.

  • Once your order is dispatched, we’ll email you with an expected delivery date and courier details.
  • On the delivery day, Parcel Force or Royal Mail will hand over your delivery.

  • You can cancel an order in writing (email) within 7 working days of placement or receipt.
  • Use internet.orders@sndelectrical.co.uk for electrical goods or lighting@sndelectrical.co.uk for lighting orders
  • Returned items must be received by us within 14 days of your email
  • Refunds are issued within 30 days after we inspect the returned goods, minus any delivery charges. We may refuse refunds for goods not in a saleable condition.
  • Custom or tailor-made items (like special chandeliers) are non-returnable.

You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery if there’s any damage, shortage, or missing item. Please email us at internet.orders@sndelectrical.co.uk. Claims made later may not be accepted.

Yes. Most products have a 12-month warranty from the date of supply (unless otherwise stated)

Your rights depend on how long you've had the product:

  • First 30 days: full refund if the item is faulty.
  • 31 days–6 months: we’ll repair or replace, or refund if we can’t.
  • After 6 months, you may need to provide evidence (like a manufacturer’s report), and any refund may be reduced to account for use.

    Note: broken glass isn’t considered a product fault under warranty.
  • Inspect goods immediately upon delivery to avoid loss of claim rights.
  • Lighting installations must be handled by a qualified electrician—failure to do so may invalidate your warranty and breach UK building regulations.
  • Product descriptions (dimensions, illustrations) are approximate. If your item differs slightly, you can return it—as long as it’s unused and in original packaging.
  • Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods, except in cases of death or personal injury from negligence. We’re not liable for third-party costs like electrician fees.
